Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a Sprout account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Sprout.
2. Who can use Sprout
Sprout accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. Children use the app only through their parent's account, under that parent's supervision, using a PIN the parent sets up for them.
3. The service
Sprout helps families track chores and allowances, and teach kids about money. We may add, change, or remove features over time as we improve the product.
4. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
- Please provide accurate information when you sign up.
- One account is intended per family/household.
5. Free trial and subscription
New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. A valid card is required to start the trial. To confirm your card is valid, we charge R1 at checkout and refund it immediately; it may appear briefly on your statement. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card will be charged automatically for the plan shown at signup, and your subscription will continue to renew on that basis until you cancel.
Prices are shown on our Pricing page and may change from time to time; we'll give you notice before any change affects your existing subscription.
6. Billing and Merchant of Record
Who sells you your subscription, and who handles the payment, depends on where you are.
South African customers. Sprout ("we", "us") is the seller of record for your subscription and issues your invoice. Your card payment is processed for us by Paystack Payments South Africa (Pty) Ltd ("Paystack"), a licensed payment service provider. Paystack stores your card details securely; we never receive or store your full card number. Billing questions, invoices, cancellations and refunds are handled by us directly at hello@sproutearnsave.com.
Customers outside South Africa.
Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") is our Merchant of Record and the authorised reseller for Sprout subscriptions. This means they handle the checkout, billing, invoicing, and payment-related customer service for your purchase, in addition to Sprout. Paddle's own terms of business also apply to the payment transaction itself.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel anytime, during the free trial (so you're never charged) or after (to stop future renewals), from inside the app via "Manage Subscription," or by emailing hello@sproutearnsave.com. If you cancel after being charged, you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details on refunds.
8. Acceptable use
Please don't misuse Sprout, this includes attempting to reverse-engineer the app, interfering with its normal operation, or using it for anything unlawful.
9. Your content
You (and your family) own the information you enter into Sprout, names, chores, and activity. You give us permission to store and process that information solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where payment fails and isn't resolved within a reasonable period. You can close your own account at any time.
11. Disclaimers and liability
Sprout is provided "as is." While we work hard to keep it reliable, we can't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim arises.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
13. Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
